Pathfinder club meeting on June 28

Posted by on in General Posts
Hi parents/guardians We are coming close to the end of another pat10h hfinder year. We have surmounted many challenges and our Pathfinders have stuck with the program although some of us felt like giving up. This Sunday will be our last official club meeting and we are collecting all class books. Hopefully your child (ren) have completed same. Next week Saturday night July 4, 2015 our Pathfinders will be having an overnight camp in Caledon. Parents/guardians, you will be required to drop off and pick up your child to and from the campgrounds. There is a minimal cost of $20.00 per camper to defray the cost of this trip. All campers will be required to take a sleeping bag (no air beds this time) and their own camp chair. We are requesting that all electronics be left at home for the night. This includes: phones, I pods, I pads, tablets, electronic games. We will be doing survival cooking on Sunday. You are welcomed to drop by to see the final results. Please indicate on Sunday June 28, 2015 if your child will be attending. We are encouraging every pathfinder to be there to complete the practical for the outdoor camping honors. Yours in the Master's service Debbie Grant

The 2014 Morning Watch

To be used as an aid to personal Bible Study and Prayer

December

To John the Lord opened the subjects that He saw would be needed by His people in the last days. The instruction that He gave is found in the book of Revelation. Those who would be co-workers with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ will show a deep interest in the truths found in this book. With pen and voice they will strive to make plain the wonderful things that Christ came from heaven to reveal. (EGW, Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 8, p. 301)

Morning Watch November 2014

The 2014 Morning Watch

To be used as an aid to personal Bible Study and Prayer

November

Everyone who enters the pearly gates of the city of God will enter there as a conqueror, and his greatest conquest will have been the conquest of self. (EGW, Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 9, p. 182)

The crown of life is placed only upon the brow of the overcomer. There is, for everyone, earnest, solemn work for God while life lasts. As Satan’s power increases and his devices are multiplied, skill, aptness, and sharp generalship should be exercised by those in charge of the flock of God. Not only have we each a work to do for our own souls, but we have also a duty to arouse others to gain eternal life. (EGW, Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 5, pg. 70, 71)

Greetings from OshKosh

Posted by on in General Posts

Good Day All Parents (Guardians),

Praise be to God we are all doing well. The Children are enjoying themselves. They're busy either in competition, getting new honors or meeting new friends.

We were blessed and fortunate to have our tents completed right before the deluge rained down on use. The temperature dropped and the winds blew but the anchor holds despite the storm.

The citizens at OshKosh were not expecting a storm. However, our Heavenly father had other plans. The storm that passed by got rid of the smog and sticky weather that plagues OshKosh for weeks.  The air is clear, clean and fresh. In time for the event to begin. Our God is an Awesome God.

I apologize for not updating the content more frequent as promised to keep you all updated. however the Internet here is not cooperating. We did not get the WIFI hotspot we expected. However, you may visit this blog to get updates. You may also visit the church website and click on the photo or video Gallery to see more content.

Parents are reminded to be at church at the same time the children were dropped off. Please be respectful of time as it is a 15 hour drive and we would all love to be ASAP without having to wait for tardy parents.

If you have any comments, you can leave them below in the blog post, and we will try and respond ASAP.

God Bless,

OSHKOSH CAMPOREE ITIMIZE LIST

Posted by on in General Posts

Hi All...something we forgot to mention. If you are sending your suitcase/clothing on the truck you will need to list each items that are in the suitcase or bag..this is for custom purposes..i have attached a copy of the form you can use or you can create a similar one...the list will need to be tape on to the outside of the suitcase or bag..
One other important thing...I check the advance weather forecast for Oshkosh and the night time temperature for the week of Aug 10 to 17 will be around 16 celcius..so i suggest you bring some warm sleeping clothing...the day time temp for the week will be around 26 celsius

OSHKOSH CAMPOREE

Posted by on in General Posts

We are literally 2 weeks away from the 2014 Oshkosh Camporee and I can feel the excitement as we continue to prepare.  All outstanding payments to camp are past overdue.  We need all these monies by July 27, 2014 or we cannot shop for our food.  Please take all outstanding monies to Bro Trevor or myself.

We are having an all important parents' and staff meeting this Saturday evening right after sunset, that is, 8:50 p.m. All parents or guardians of children attending camp  MUST be in attendance.  Parents are asked to take their child or children's health card and medical info as we all have to redo the medical forms to be sent to the conference.  I look forward to seeing you then.

Please find the attached consent form for your completion

In your daily devotion please pray for all our children, and staff volunteers as we travel to Oshkosh.

Stay connected to Jesus and don't forget to study His word. Jesus is coming soon, get ready to meet Him

UPDATES FOR OSHKOSH

Posted by on in General Posts

Dear Parents and Guardians

1. We are literally 2 months away from Oshkosh 2014 and there are some housekeeping matters to take care of.  As you may be aware, all children going to camp will need to have a signed and notarized consent letter allowing me (Debbie Clarke-Grant) to take them across to the U.S.A.  We have made arrangements to have these consent forms signed and notarized on Sunday June 29, 2014 at the Brampton Seventh Day Adventist Church when you take your child to pathfinder meeting at 11:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m.  There is a cost to have each consent form notarized; as such please come prepared to pay a nominal fee.  We will not be able to allow IOUs so if you are not able to meet this requirement for Sunday then you will have to find your own notarization service.

2. In addition, all outstanding monies for bus transport, truck transport and food will be collected this weekend.  Please talk with Bro. Trevor or Sis. Debbie if there are difficulties.  I know it is difficult for some of us to find these funds in such a short period of time but as planners we need to start our shopping and complete final arrangements for camp.

3. If you have not shown me your child's travel documents as yet please do so this Sunday.

4. I look forward to meeting with the Menu planning committee on Sunday at 11:00 A.M.  Members are: Kevin Clarke, Charmaine McMahon, Daphene Clayton, Bernetta Donaldson, Joy Webster, Junior Ramjattan, Annette Richards.

5. At this weekend's club meeting, we will be learning how to pitch and strike a tent.  As such ALL pathfinders and STAFF going to camp should make every effort to be at club meeting.  If your child is not going to camp then he or she will not be required to be at club meeting on Sunday.

I am requesting that you pray for the Director and Staff of our club and that you help us prepare our children for camp.  May God continue to bless you and your families as we strive for the mastery.

Regards
Debbie Clarke-Grant
Club Director

Morning Watch February 2014

The 2014 Morning Watch

To be used as an aid to personal Bible Study and Prayer

February

Christ came to earth and stood before the children of men with the hoarded love of eternity, and this is the treasure that through our connection with him, we are to receive, to reveal, and to impart....

Our Lord Jesus Christ came to this world as the unwearied servant of man’s necessity. He “took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses,” that He might minister to every need of humanity. Matthew 8:17. The burden of disease and wretchedness and sin He came to remove. It was His mission to bring to men complete restoration; He came to give them health and peace and perfection of character. (EGW, A Call to Stand Apart, p. 59)

New Samaritan Pathfinder Club

Camporee Information & Registration

Dear Parents,

The “Forever Faithful International Pathfinder Camporee” will be held from August 11 – 16, 2014 in Oshkosh Wisconsin, USA. Please note the following important dates:

Early registration:

Cost per person is $195.00 US (Canadian equivalent preferred) due on or before the club registration deadline of November 30, 2013. After the Conference registration deadline the cost is $215 US per person as tickets are available. Please remember that this registration cost is only the Conference registration. Note: Each person is responsible to pay for transportation and food.

Transportation:

1) Bus cost per person is $200.00 which is due on or before February 28, 2014

2) Truck cost per person for transporting items is $100.00 which is due on or before March 31, 2014

Food:

Meal cost per person is $100.00 for the week which is due on or before May 31, 2014. We are encouraging all parents and pathfinders  to support in the purchasing of oranges which will help to lower the cost. Parents, if there are financial concerns then there are ways that we may work together but not at the last minute. Please do not wait for the last minute as it is the goal of the club to take all the children to camporee. Please cooperate with us to make this a reality. Parents please make sure your child/children travel documents and uniforms are up-to-date in advance.

Sincerely,

Richard Pyne

Director (New Samaritans Pathfinder Club)
